“Junior programs bridge the gap between tiny tennis and elite junior
programs. The aims are to introduce our juniors to the full size court
and version of the game. Here they begin to learn more advanced stoke
production and tactics for Singles & Doubles. It’s at this level
that our juniors can choose to play competition and represent their
club.”
Steve Riley, Head Coach

The
natural progression for young tennis players who are ready to move on
from Tiny
Tennis is to progress to Junior Tennis. Junior Tennis at RT
can be divided into 2 groups:
 |
Pre Competition Coaching |
 |
Competition Coaching |
|
- |
A grade |
|
- |
B grade |
|
- |
C grade |
|
- |
D grade |
|
Riley
Tennis offers tennis coaching to cater for all players of differing
ages and standards from D grades through to A grades. All groups have a
maximum of 1:5 coach / student ratio.
Riley
Tennis endeavours to use the Game Based Approach which promotes self
learning and discovery through selecting structured games and drills,
encouraging our players to learn whilst they play.
|
Group Coaching 45 minutes (1:5)
Semi Private Lessons 45 - 60 minutes
Private Lesson 30 – 60 minutes |
|
 |
Pre Competition Coaching |
|
The
focus here is still on the basics of tennis including the development
of techniques and stroke production for all areas of the game, whilst
using a full-sized court and competition tennis balls. |
|
 |
Competition Coaching |
|
In
competition coaching our focus moves onto more advanced stroke
production whilst playing varied matches including regulated doubles
and singles that challenge our players to compete while under pressure
with simulated match conditions.
As players improve they will be
progressed into higher groups that are more appropriate to their
standard. (Starting from D groups through to A groups) |
